Overview of Restructuring and Bankruptcy for Airlines

Introduction

The airline industry is striving to recover, and in the process of recovery, airlines may consider restructuring in bankruptcy.  To successfully restructure in bankruptcy, an airline must navigate the Bankruptcy Code and formulate a business reorganization plan that conforms to federal law, is confirmable, and results in the emergence of a viable company.  Along the way the airline must contend with its officers and directors, its critical vendors, and its creditors.
