Firm Finance Numbers for Haynes and Boone

Strong intellectual property and real estate practices helped Dallas-based Haynes and Boone's gross revenue jump by 8.9 percent in 2014 compared to 2013, and net income was up 12.9 percent.

The firm brought in $339 million in gross revenue in 2014, compared with $311.2 million in 2013, and net income was $110.6 million compared with $98 million the previous year.

"We had a great year because we've got great clients and they were very active,'' said Tim Powers, Haynes and Boone's managing partner, noting that post-grant review work fired up the IP practice for the firm, while real estate "is a super-hot market" in Texas and elsewhere.

Average revenue per lawyer was at $673,000 in 2014, up 4.3 percent from $645,000 in 2013, while average profits per equity partner was $860,000 in 2014, up 10 percent from $781,500 the previous year.

"It was a great year for the firm. A lot of that is based on the hard work of our lawyers," Powers said.
