Houston Business Journal Guest Article: 'Claptrap' over Keystone mere political noise


Opponents of the Keystone XL pipeline are making the rounds with specious arguments these days. Perhaps their reasoning should be considered by the project's developers, but their arguments certainly don't provide a basis for any government -- federal or state -- to delay or stop the project.

The pipeline would carry heavy crude oil 1,700 miles from the tar sands of northern Alberta to the Texas Gulf Coast. President Obama recently put a hold on construction plans by TransCanada, the pipeline company, pending environmental review. On Dec. 12, The New York Times published an editorial headlined "Keystone Claptrap" opposing the pipeline.
