Administrative Prosecution of Judge Porteus

As Counsel to the Fifth Circuit's Special Investigatory Committee of the Judicial Council, one of our partners conducted administrative prosecution of charges of Judicial Misconduct of United States District Judge G. Thomas Porteous, Jr., under the Judicial Conduct and Disability Act of 1980, resulting in the Special Investigatory Committee recommendation to the Judicial Conference of the United States that the judge engaged in conduct which might constitute one or more grounds for impeachment under Article II of the US Constitution. Recommendations served as basis for U.S. House of Representatives vote for impeachment in March 2010.
