Mexico's Energy Reform: Opportunities in All Directions

September 23, 2016

Mexico's energy reforms have had a deep impact on the entire sector. Although much attention has been on hydrocarbons, this event focuses on the effects of the reforms on the natural gas transportation and power sectors, and includes an update on the upstream bid rounds – in particular, the highly anticipated deepwater bid round in December.

The potential of the gas and power sectors to deliver on the promises of the reforms is very high, but there must be changes to system regulation, contract handling, private partner participation, wholesale market management, transmission set-up and distribution networks. Industry experts, scholars and practitioners will analyze these and related issues at the event, and offer insights on the potential for success of the reforms.

This event is co-sponsored by Rice University's Baker Institute Mexico Center and Haynes and Boone, LLP.
