Haynes and Boone Announces New Partners

Dallas, Texas - Haynes and Boone, LLP announces the addition of the following new partners: Michael A. Davis, Jr., Felicity A. Fowler, Kight L. Higgins, Larry B. Pascal and Richard D. Rafferty. “I am very excited about our new partners. They have high energy and possess great expertise in their areas of specialty. Michael A. Davis, Jr. is a partner in the Technology Practice Group of Haynes and Boone’s Austin office. Mr. Davis focuses his practice on protecting and commercializing technology, including negotiation of strategic alliances, corporate partnering, marketing agreements, technology licenses, and related disputes. In patent matters, his technical areas of expertise include software, Internet, digital & analog circuitry, semiconductor manufacturing, and microprocessor design. Also, Mr. Davis advises emerging technology companies regarding venture capital sources and investor presentations. He earned his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 1990 and an engineering degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1986. Mr. Davis is admitted to the State Bar of Texas, the U. S. Patent & Trademark Office, and all U. S. District Courts in Texas. He also chairs the MIT Enterprise Forum of Austin and serves as Treasurer of the Austin Intellectual Property Law Association.

Felicity A. Fowler is a partner in the Labor, Employment Law and Employee Benefits Practice Group of Haynes and Boone’s Houston office. Ms. Fowler’s practice focuses on representation of management in employment litigation and related matters. She counsels employers on all aspects of labor and employment law and is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization as a specialist in the field of Labor and Employment Law. Ms. Fowler earned her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1992 and her undergraduate degree from the Cornell School of Industrial and Labor Relations in 1989. Ms. Fowler was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1992 and is licensed to practice in the United States District Courts in the Northern, Western, Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Kight L. Higgins is a partner in the Business Litigation Practice Group of Haynes and Boone’s Fort Worth office. Mr. Higgins focuses his practice on complex commercial and general business disputes including clients from the telecommunications, public utilities, transportation and retail industries. Mr. Higgins earned his law degree from Texas Tech University in 1992 and is a member of the Tarrant County Bar Association.

Larry B. Pascal is a partner in the International Practice Group of Haynes and Boone’s Dallas office. Mr. Pascal has extensive experience in advising multinational companies with their investments throughout Latin America (principally Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil). He has worked in a variety of industries including aviation, information technology and outsourcing telecommunications, manufacturing and real estate development. Mr. Pascal earned his law degree from University of Texas in 1991. Also, Mr. Pascal is a member of the State Bar of Texas, International Law Section Council and the Dallas Bar Association.

Richard D. Rafferty is a partner in the Corporate Practice Group of Haynes and Boone’s Dallas office. Mr. Rafferty focuses his practice on corporate securities, mergers and acquisitions and corporate counseling. His practice also includes the representation of publicly-held and private companies in a variety of industries including heavy industry, software manufacturers, consumer finance and e-commerce. Mr. Rafferty received his law degree from University of California at Berkeley in 1991. Also, Mr. Rafferty is a member of the American Bar Association (Corporate Law Section), State Bar of Texas (Business Law Section) and the Dallas Bar Association (Securities Law Section).
