Houston, Texas - Haynes and Boone, LLP announced today its second major expansion in six months. The international law firm has increased its number of attorneys handling corporate and real estate transactions, environmental litigation, and white collar defense and antitrust. With more than 20 attorneys now specialized in white collar defense and antitrust, Haynes and Boone, LLP has one of the largest and most experienced practice groups of its kind in the Southwest.

"In our world today where some firms are closing their doors, we are thrilled that Haynes and Boone is once again expanding its capabilities. We look upon it as the perfect opportunity to build a larger, stronger and more seamlessly operating team than ever before," said John Eldridge, partner with Haynes and Boone's Houston office. "We are known for our cohesive team efforts when a client has a case in any area, and that teamwork is what makes Haynes and Boone one of the top law firms in the nation. The domestic and international capabilities that Haynes and Boone possesses provide us with the ability to fully serve clients and handle any type of case, anywhere."

In continuing to add attorneys, Haynes and Boone is acquiring new expertise in diverse practice sections: Trey Monsour and Keith Spickelmier further expand the Bankruptcy and Reorganization practice that grew dramatically in January; Tom McCaffrey brings experience in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, business formation, venture capital and real estate; Michael Mazzone is primarily engaged in commercial litigation, arbitration, and trials, in the energy, construction and environmental industries; Bruce Merwin specializes in the areas of master planned communities and country clubs, land development, construction contracts and agreements, and real estate transactions; Scot Dixon practices in real estate, corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and estate planning/probate law; and Marla Poirot provides white collar crime and environmental experience.

"This is a great opportunity to join a team of attorneys that share my same goals and aspirations," said Tom Hagemann, new partner in the white collar defense/antitrust area. "The synergy that exists between cities, and the strength of expertise -- particularly now in the white collar defense and antitrust practice group -- has been a long-time advantage for Haynes and Boone clients on a firmwide basis." Mr. Hagemann represents individuals and corporations in all phases of white collar criminal matters, in both state and federal courts.
