Chris Kulander in Texas Lawyer: O&G Law Update: From Royalty Rifts to Data Disputes

Even though oil prices have been sinking during recent months, it's a safe bet that the number of oil and gas lawsuits will keep rising. Keeping up with the rapidly changing landscape in this complex area of law can be a real challenge for busy O&G attorneys and general practitioner lawyers who occasionally deal with energy law topics.

Fortunately, Christopher S. Kulander, Ph.D., director of the Oil and Gas Law Institute at South Texas College of Law, and of counsel at Haynes and Boone in Houston, has been following recent key cases in the energy arena.

Kulander will be speaking and presenting a paper covering important O&G case law from Texas and beyond at the upcoming 66th Annual Oil and Gas Law Conference, which will be held in Houston on Feb. 19-20.

Texas Lawyer emailed questions to Kulander asking him about recent important legal developments in the O&G sector. The following has been edited for length and style.
