Seven Texas-based firms are among the 15 firms that worked on the largest Texas acquisitions announced during the first half of 2013, Mergermarket reports in its Texas M&A Trend Report: H1 2013...

Overall, deal count was down in Texas during the first half of 2013 compared to 2012, but the total value of acquisitions announced during the six-month period was up in part due to the $20.2 billion Dell Computer Co. leveraged buyout.

Following V&E on the league table are Andrews Kurth in third place with 17 deals valued at $6.3 billion; Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld in fourth place with 16 deals valued at $10.7 billion; Norton Rose Fulbright in ninth place with 10 deals valued at $1.0 billion; Bracewell & Giuliani in 10th place with nine deals valued at $15.9 billion; Baker Botts in 11th place with nine deals valued at $11.3 billion, and Haynes and Boone, LLP in 15th place with seven deals valued at $154 million.
