Mark Trachtenberg in Law360: Q&A with Haynes And Boone's Mark Trachtenberg

Mark Trachtenberg heads Haynes and Boone, LLP's Houston office as its administrative partner. He collaborates with trial counsel through dispositive motions, challenges to the opposing party's expert testimony, jury charges, trial briefs and post-trial motions. He is board-certified in civil appellate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and has written and spoken on a wide variety of topics, with a recent focus on arbitration issues.

Q: What is the most challenging case you have worked on and what made it challenging?

A: My recent lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the Texas school finance system — in which we received a favorable trial court decision in early February — has been the most challenging case of my career for many reasons.

First, there is the challenge of knowing that the adequacy of funding for the education of five million Texas public school students depends, at least in some part, on my advocacy skills.
