M.C. Sungaila in The Daily Journal: Appellate Guru Heads to Haynes and Boone

Employment appellate specialist Mary-Christine Sungaila, who won an important franchisor liability case for Domino's Pizza Inc. at the state Supreme Court last year, has moved to Haynes and Boone LLP in Costa Mesa.

She is the firm's first appellate lawyer in California and the latest addition to its Orange County office, which has undergone a rapid expansion in the last year. She leaves Snell & Wilmer in Orange County after five years.

"They have a tremendous appellate practice out of Texas that is very highly regarded, so to be the first anchor in California is an opportunity that doesn't come around that often, especially in Orange County where there aren't that many large firms with dedicated appellate practices," Sungaila said in an interview...

"Our clients are greatly expanding their business in the state and demand is increasing for real estate, securities, insurance coverage and class action labor and employment expertise," said Gregory J. Michelson, the administrative partner for Orange County. "We are continually seeking to strategically add to our practice areas, and the addition of M.C. Sungaila is a good example of this goal and provides a solid foundation to build upon."
