Cuba

Haynes and Boone’s Cuba Team focuses on international regulatory, transactional and dispute related areas to help clients monitor, prepare, and respond to new opportunities in connection with trade with Cuba. The relationship between the United States and Cuba has changed dramatically and the strengthening of ties offers significant business potential, including economic gains for companies based in the United States and elsewhere. Haynes and Boone lawyers have the requisite experience and are well prepared to help clients navigate and capitalize on these opportunities.

Our Cuba Team offers clients a number of key benefits:

A Detailed Understanding of Political, Legal, and Cultural Issues in Cuba

Several of our lawyers are of Cuban heritage, are fluent in Spanish, and they understand how to get deals done in the inter-connected, highly-regulated Caribbean region. Some of our lawyers have led or have been involved with trade delegations to Cuba, and one of our lawyers serves as the Chairman-elect and Director for World Services Group, one of the world’s largest networks of legal, investment banking and accounting service providers, with membership in more than 120 countries. Many of our lawyers have served in positions of responsibility for Latin America policy in the U.S. government, and in public and private organizations and companies that foster regional trade. Our team also includes a former U.S. ambassador to Spain and Andorra, who is of Cuban heritage and whose experience includes service as the first Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
