As an appellate partner in the Dallas office, Anne has led appellate teams to a string of victories over the last year. In December 2020, she convinced the Dallas Court of Appeals to reverse a $110 million jury verdict in a fraud case against BBVA. For that win, Anne was named Litigator of the Week by AmLaw Litigation Daily. That same month, she secured a victory for Compass Well Services, a Fort Worth fracking company, in a $6 million coverage dispute with an insurance carrier. Most recently, she obtained rare mandamus relief from a Texas appellate court in a dispute involving the scope of the crime-fraud exception to the attorney-client privilege.
Anne has been recognized in many legal publications, including Chambers USA, Chambers and Partners, for litigation: appellate (Texas) 2017-2021. In the most recent Chambers USA directory, in which Haynes Boone’s appellate section received the top Band One rating, commenters specifically praised Anne: “She is truly impressive on her feet and her preparation is outstanding."
In addition to her courtroom wins, Anne is a recognized leader in the firm and her community. She currently serves on Haynes Boone’s ten-member Executive Committee as well as the firm’s Board of Directors, having previously chaired the Litigation Department from 2010 to 2016. Among her many community roles, Anne was recently appointed to the board of the Homeless Collaborative, the regional planning body that coordinates housing and services funding for homeless families and individuals in Dallas and Collin Counties.
