Natalia Cosio Ondiviela is a foreign associate in the International Practice Group at Haynes and Boone focusing on administrative law, compliance and investigative work. Natalia has experience on regulatory compliance, including in the oil and gas industry in Mexico, with a clear understanding of the requirements and obligations throughout a project’s life cycle, as well as in a variety of subjects, such as the permitting sequences for onshore and offshore exploration and extraction operations, and midstream, downstream and retail requirements to obtain permits and operate oil and gas pipelines, tank cars and tank trucks, storage facilities, service stations (gasoline, diesel and multimodal stations), and develop transloading operations, among others.

Additionally, Natalia has been involved in conducting internal investigations and providing compliance advice. She also has experience in in cross-border transactional and mergers and acquisitions work, including due diligence research on regulatory compliance issues for companies in the U.S. and Mexico.

Prior to joining the firm, Natalia was the General Director for Legal Consultancy at the Agency for Safety, Energy and Environment (ASEA) in Mexico City where she provided comprehensive legal solutions for the development of oil and gas projects. During this time, Natalia was engaged in the rulemaking process for setting the new industrial safety and environmental protection standards, together with the safety and environmental management system guidelines, insurance policies, and environmental impact assessment requirements.
