Justin Gilleland

Justin Gilleland is an associate in the Intellectual Property Practice Group in the Denver office of Haynes and Boone. His experience includes patent strategy, patent prosecution, and portfolio analysis and counseling – including patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.

Justin has extensive experience in a wide range of technologies and industries, including AgTech, automobiles and auto-related components, aviation, clean energy, consumer products, drones and other UAVs, food and beverage, medical devices, micromobility vehicles and supporting technology, shipping, and vehicle electrification. Justin has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in the United States and other jurisdictions, including the Americas, Asia, and Europe.

Prior to practicing law, Justin worked as a mechanical engineer on various projects, including combined-cycle power plants, ethanol production, and copper mining, extraction and refinement.
