Vivek Ramachandran focuses his practice on the procurement and enforcement of intellectual property in patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. As a patent practitioner, he has experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications, claim charts, opinions, and appeal briefs. Vivek has led pre-litigation workups for both plaintiffs and defendants, which have included patent portfolio analysis, infringement analysis, evaluation of patent strengths and weaknesses, litigation strategy, and drafting pleadings. His litigation experience includes discovery, drafting motions, as well as witness preparation in the Federal District Court. Vivek has also negotiated and worked on complex transactional law and licensing.
He has extensive knowledge in a broad range of technologies, such as blockchain, cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, cybersecurity, imaging, e-commerce, financial and banking technologies, internet of things (IOT), medical devices, semiconductors, telecommunications, wireless, virtual reality, and wearable devices. Vivek’s patent law practice is strengthened by his mechanical engineering background and his particular interest in electrical engineering.
In addition to his experience with intellectual property, Vivek has experience with Computer Fraud and Abuse Act litigation. He is currently working toward a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Clemson University.
