Michael Tobin

Michael (“Mike”) Tobin is a counsel in the Intellectual Property Practice Group in the Dallas office of Haynes and Boone. Mike assists clients in building patent portfolios through preparation and prosecution of high quality patent applications.

He focuses on protecting innovations in the chemical arts and related fields. His experience covers wide-ranging technologies such as inorganic and organic chemistry, medical devices, automotive and consumer electronics, and semiconductors. Some of his inorganic patent work includes ceramics, catalysts, batteries, glass, alloys, metal organic frameworks, and coordination chemistry, and his organic patent work includes polymers, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, rubbers, inks, adhesives, and cosmetics. Mike’s practice also includes inter partes reviews before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, design patent applications, and general IP counseling including clearance and freedom-to-operate evaluations and opinions.
