Profile

Amanda Van Deusen is a professional landman in the Energy Practice Group in the Houston office of Haynes and Boone. She is a Certified Professional Landman with 14 years of experience in the energy industry, primarily in land and title due diligence of upstream and midstream assets. She specializes in acquisition due diligence, land title examination, reserve evaluation and energy finance transactions. Amanda has also executed due diligence programs for multi billion-dollar acquisitions of North American Shale plays by large exploration and production companies or non-operators (foreign and domestic) related to producing properties and undeveloped leaseholds. Prior to joining Haynes and Boone in 2014, Amanda worked in house as a senior landman for various energy and land management companies.

Amanda was awarded the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL) "Special Award (Education)" in June 2018 for her 2017 service as committee chairman of the HAPL technical workshop in Denver at the AAPL annual meeting in Denver, CO. Amanda was also presented with the Houston Association of Professional Landmen (HAPL) “Above and Beyond” award in 2015, given to the HAPL member who over the past year has contributed above and beyond what was expected in the performance of their duties and responsibilities. Amanda's recognition was for her contributions to the annual technical workshop that was held April 21, 2015. She continues to serve as the committee chairman of the HAPL technical workshop since 2016, providing continued education to members of our industry and significant proceeds to support HAPL. The workshop continues to break records in overall attendance and number of remote locations across the country.

Amanda is a graduate of Austin College with a Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston. Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.

    Represented Morgan Stanley Capital Group Inc., as administrative agent, collateral agent and lender in a senior secured credit facility with BNK Petroleum (U.S.) Inc.


  • $100 Million Acquisition Financing

    Represented lead arranger and administrative agent in $100 million senior secured acquisition financing in connection with an E&P company's acquisition of Permian Basin oil and gas properties.
