Bianca A. Valencia

Bianca Valencia is an associate in the Labor and Employment Practice Group in Haynes Boone’s Orange County office. Her practice focuses on employment litigation, advice and counsel, and internal Cal/OSHA compliance. Bianca strives to provide a practical approach to employers in navigating complex business needs. Bianca focuses on implementing proactive measures to reduce risk and limit costs.

Bianca regularly advises corporate clients on labor and employment issues in the context of hiring protocols, disciplinary actions, termination practices, and employee handbooks and policies. Clients appreciate Bianca’s understanding of the delicate interplay of each client’s unique business. She regularly drafts agreements for a variety of workplace relationships including confidentiality agreements, restrictive covenants, liability waivers, and alternative work-schedule agreements.

Should an employer face litigation, Bianca has extensive experience defending clients in both state and federal court for a variety of matters including alleged discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage-and-hour, and breach of contract.  Bianca also represents clients in Cal/OSHA administrative trials, including a recent trial on PPE in California. She also was a contributing member of the trial team that won a multi-million-dollar verdict in federal court.

Bianca’s goal is to help employers curate a thriving workplace culture. In addition to providing situational best practices, Bianca walks alongside her clients when handling delicate employee issues. Bianca also routinely prepares employment agreements for clients with a national presence, carefully considering the dynamics of a multi-state analysis.

Bianca also frequently engages in, and is committed to, pro bono efforts. Bianca currently serves as an Advocate for the Public Law Center, a pro-bono law firm that provides access to justice for low-income residents of Orange County, California. Bianca also commonly participates in the Federal Pro Se Clinic, organized by Public Counsel, where she assists unrepresented litigants with civil cases filed in the Central District of California.

Bianca earned her J.D. from the University of California, Irvine School of Law. While in law school, Bianca was a Staff Editor for the UC Irvine Law Review.

Bianca received a sports scholarship from the George Washington University for the Women’s Division I Swimming Team. Bianca graduated summa cum laude and was inducted as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
