Haynes and Boone Repeats High Scores in The Vault’s 2016 Rankings, Gains Four New Categories


The Vault’s annual survey of the 100 largest U.S. law firms has once again ranked Haynes and Boone, LLP in the Top 100 for overall prestige and the Top 20 in the country for diversity, including four new rankings.

In the Best Law Firms to Work For section, Haynes and Boone ranked in the Top 20 in eight key categories:

  • No. 8 in Hours
  • No. 10 in Firm Culture (new ranking)
  • No. 12 in Associate/Partner Relations
  • No. 13 in Training, Mentoring & Sponsorship
  • No. 13 in Satisfaction (new ranking)
  • No. 17 in Integration of Laterals/Clerks (new ranking)
  • No. 18 in Career Outlook, and
  • No. 20 in Overall Best Law Firms to Work For (new ranking).

“This recognition is especially gratifying because it demonstrates that our peers see us the way we see ourselves,” said firm Managing Partner Tim Powers. “We are proud and grateful to be honored for our work to make the firm a satisfying, collaborative, inclusive and productive workplace.”

In the Best Law Firms for Diversity section, the firm ranked No. 14 overall and received high scores in additional categories:

  • No. 11 in Diversity for Minorities
  • No. 13 in Diversity for Individuals with Disabilities, and
  • No. 16 in Diversity for Women.

The firm also maintained high regional rankings in Texas and was once again the only Texas firm to make the list in the Best Summer Associate Program category.

The Vault Top 100 Law Firms list ranks the most prestigious law firms based on the perceptions of currently practicing lawyers at peer firms. It is determined from a survey of more than 17,000 law associates asked to rate law firms on a scale of 1 to 10 based on prestige. Associates were not allowed to rate their own firms, and were asked only to rate firms with which they were familiar.
