World IP Review names leaders in the patent and trademark bars through a four month nomination process in which it seeks the views of 12,000 IP professionals. The publication vets every nominated lawyer by researching their practice history, industry experience, notable cases, and additional activities that “have allowed the lawyers to shape and influence other and future IP practitioners.”
Albers focuses her practice on brand management, including domestic and international trademark portfolio protection and enforcement, and has extensive experience with trade dress and copyright counseling, IP licensing, social media, and cybersquatting and Internet issues. She counsels Fortune 500 companies and high growth ventures on the protection of their valuable brand investments. Her professional accomplishments have earned her recognition in many publications, including being listed in the 2016 Chambers USA directory, (Chambers & Partners) for Intellectual Property: Trademark & Copyright (Texas), and garnering the International Law Office (ILO) and Lexology 2015 Client Choice award for Texas in the Intellectual Property: Trademarks category.
Becker’s practice is focused on the legal aspects of brand management, helping companies develop trademark enforcement policies, clearing their marks for use, registering those marks in the U.S. and abroad, and managing domain name acquisitions, among other services. He has been repeatedly nationally recognized for his expertise in trademark law for having the rare combination of both “Prosecution and Strategy” and “Enforcement and Litigation” skill by World Trademark Review’s WTR 1000 (Globe Business Publishing, Ltd., 2011-2017). Both Chambers Global (Chambers & Partners, 2013-2016) and Chambers USA (Chambers & Partners, 2004-2016) have ranked Jeff as one of the country’s best trademark lawyers.
McCombs is primary counsel for many leading corporations in inter partes review (IPR), reexamination, and concurrent patent litigation in the federal courts and before the U.S. Patent Office’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board. His practice spans 30 years and includes Federal Circuit appellate argument, patent litigation, licensing and technology transfer, patent portfolio development and drafting, and dispute resolution. McCombs was recognized as a "Lawyer of the Year" by Best Lawyers (Woodward/White, Inc.) in Litigation - Intellectual Property, 2015; Litigation - Patent, 2016; and Technology Law, 2017. He was also named a leading intellectual property lawyer for Texas in Chambers USA Chambers & Partners, 2003-2016).
