November 30, 2020

Haynes and Boone, LLP Co-Founder Michael Boone, Managing Partner Tim Powers, Partner Sakina Rasheed Foster and Director of Diversity and Inclusion Jennifer Reddien are featured in D CEO Magazine’s 2021 “Dallas 500” directory.

Featuring the region’s most powerful and influential business leaders across 56 industries, the directory provides an engaging, personal look at the people who have made Dallas-Fort Worth such a powerful economic force.

Honorees shared professional and personal details, what they’ve learned in 2020, hobbies, their best business advice, and other fun facts. Here are excerpts:

Michael Boone

In the 50 years since he co-founded Haynes and Boone, Partner Mike Boone has been a witness to several years of business challenges. The past year has been no exception. He says that 2020 has taught him to “have conservative operating policies in place, don’t panic, and stay the course.” One of Boone’s favorite possessions is his Bible, in which he has written meaningful notes to himself through the years.

Timothy Powers

In his first job working at a gas station during the start of the Arab oil embargo, Powers “learned the absolute importance of client service and remaining calm in a very stressful environment.” This experience served Powers well as he navigated his final year as managing partner of Haynes and Boone. In reflecting on the past year, Powers says he learned “the importance of keeping the team together, inspired, and focused on the long-term.”

Sakina Rasheed Foster

Foster represents financial institutions and borrowers in commercial loan transactions, as well as airline and aviation matters. When she’s not serving clients, Foster is passionate about volunteering with the Orchid Giving Circle at the Texas Women’s Foundation. She says the pandemic has provided the opportunity to “step back, define a new path forward, and work together to rise and meet these challenges head on.”

Jennifer Reddien

In her role as Haynes and Boone’s Director of Diversity and Inclusion, Reddien “strategizes, implements, and executes the firm’s award-winning diversity plan.” She says she inherited her fervent passion for equality from her maternal grandfather, S. Howard Woodson, a Baptist minister who was active in the civil rights movement. When looking to unwind, Reddien “enjoys labyrinths for walking meditation” and has picked up painting during quarantine.
