Four Haynes and Boone Lawyers Featured in D CEO’s Dallas 500

Haynes and Boone, LLP proudly announces that four firm lawyers have been featured in the inaugural edition of D CEO Magazine’s The Dallas 500. Co-founder Michael Boone, Managing Partner Tim Powers, Senior Counsel George Bramblett and Partner Jeff Dorrill have all been included in the directory of the most powerful men and women in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Featuring leaders in more than 60 categories, The Dallas 500 is a special edition publication that celebrates the most influential leaders in North Texas. Unprecedented in scope, The Dallas 500 provides an engaging, personal look at the people who have made Dallas-Fort Worth such a powerful economic force.

Honorees shared business and life advice, toughest challenges they have had to overcome in their careers, hobbies, bucket list goals and other fun facts. Boone, an SMU alum who currently serves as chair of the university’s board of trustees, recounted a humorous story that proves swimming while half asleep might not be a good idea.

Powers recalled that his initial application to work at the firm was rejected, causing him to work at another firm for two years. Now that he is managing partner, his best advice is to “show up and be present, create an environment of mutual respect, high integrity, and high expectation.”

Long-time member of the firm and former DBA Trial Lawyer of the Year, George Bramblett, said there is always something new and challenging about trial work, which keeps him young. He advised, “Don’t be afraid of defeat or setbacks. Experience counts.”

Dorrill, who is a member of the firm’s board of directors and head of the Tax Practice Group, encouraged young lawyers to “make yourself indispensable to other attorneys in your firm. And then transition to making yourself indispensable to your clients.”

The Dallas 500 will be distributed in November to the subscribers of D CEO. The next edition will be in 2017.
