Edward Lebow Joins Haynes and Boone's Washington, D.C. International Trade Practice

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Haynes and Boone L.L.P., a full-service law firm, announced that Edward M. Lebow has joined its Washington, D.C. office.  Mr. Lebow is the latest addition to the firm’s expanding International Trade, Customs and International Dispute Resolution Practice Group.

Mr. Lebow brings to Haynes and Boone 25 years of experience in antidumping, countervailing duty and Section 337 litigation.  He has worked both for the U.S. International Trade Commission, where he was Assistant General Counsel, and in private practice representing domestic and international interests.

“Ed is a premier international trade lawyer who combines an insider’s knowledge with private practice experience and insight on import issues.   He adds significant depth to our existing trade practice, including our established expertise in Customs law, export controls and sanctions, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and other trade regulatory issues,” said Kenneth B. Reisenfeld, head of the firm’s 30-person International Trade, Customs and Dispute Resolution Practice Group and Chair-Elect, ABA Section of International Law & Practice.

Mr. Lebow also strengthens Haynes and Boone’s international trade practice through his extensive knowledge of Japanese language and business. “Ed brings a substantial Japanese clientele and knowledge of Japanese business practices to Haynes and Boone.  His language skills and cultural experience in Asia enhance Haynes and Boone’s ability to represent Japanese interests in the United States and assist U.S. companies develop ties to Japan,” said Reisenfeld.

Mr. Lebow earned his Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School and his Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors, from Harvard College, where he participated in the International Honors Program for Study in Asia.  At Harvard, he studied under former U.S. Ambassador to Japan Edwin O. Reischauer.
