Franchise Times Honors Deb Coldwell for 11th Legal Eagle Award

For the 11th straight year, Franchise Times has named Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Deb Coldwell one of its Legal Eagles for her superb representation of franchisors involved in litigation.

Coldwell, a member of the magazine’s Legal Eagles Hall of Fame, was named to a 2014 class that features attorneys who “are stellar at their craft,” according to the editors.

Coldwell is the current chair of the American Bar Association Forum on Franchising and previously served as the editor-in-chief of the forum’s Franchise Law Journal. She is also chair of the Haynes and Boone Franchise Litigation Marketing Group and co-chair of the firm’s sports law practice.

In her 23 years as a trial lawyer, she has successfully tried jury trials, bench trials and arbitrations and has sought and received preliminary and permanent injunctive relief for franchisors, distributors, and the individuals who run those companies.

The Haynes and Boone Franchise and Distribution Practice represents companies of all sizes and in diverse industries. Its attorneys have the industry insight to help clients establish new franchise, licensing and distribution programs around the world. By drawing on the firm’s capabilities to help with financing, IP, tax, real estate, corporate, labor and employment, and many other issues, its attorneys help resolve whatever business problems arise for clients – from structuring the franchise or distribution program to enforcing the agreement and taking a case to trial or arbitration if necessary to protect a client’s rights.

Lawyers are selected as Franchise Times Legal Eagles based on client and peer nominations and editorial research.
