Haynes and Boone Lawyers Contribute to Genesis Young Leaders Masquerade Event

Haynes and Boone, LLP lawyers were among more than 700 young professionals who attended the Feb. 22 Genesis Young Leaders (GYL) Masquerade Ball benefiting Genesis Women’s Shelter in Dallas.

The firm was a Platinum Sponsor for the event, which raised more than $200,000 in funds to provide life-saving services to women and children who are victims of domestic violence. Associate Camie Carlock served as the Underwriting Chair for this year’s GYL Masquerade Ball.

Partner Michelle Jacobs and Associates Camie Carlock and C.J. Donald serve on the GYL Board of Directors, the young professionals auxiliary of Genesis Women’s Shelter. GYL’s mission is to eliminate family violence through volunteerism, education and community awareness. Members volunteer monthly with children staying at the Genesis Women’s shelter, attend educational events and networking happy hours, and host the GYL Masquerade Ball.

Genesis Women's Shelter & Support provides shelter, safety, counseling, and expert services to battered women and their children. “We have seen how domestic violence affects lives and families. We have witnessed firsthand the damage it can cause. But more importantly, we know there is a way out and we can help women find a way to safety,” the organization states on its website.
