HOUSTON – Haynes and Boone LLP partner Scot Dixon has been appointed to the governing board of directors for the Houston Bar Association’s Law Practice Management Section, and will assume the post before the group’s next meeting.

Dixon will serve as treasurer for the section, which provides programs and information to lawyers to help them develop and improve the management skills necessary for a successful and ethical law practice.

The programs usually cover topics that law schools do not teach, but which lawyers find they must understand to develop clients and to serve their clients' interests effectively and efficiently.

Dixon, a partner in Haynes and Boone’s Tax, Business and Estate Planning and Corporate/Securities practice groups, is a 1990 graduate of Rice University, and graduated first in his class at the University of Texas School of Law in 1993.

Haynes and Boone, LLP is an international corporate law firm with offices in Texas, Washington, D.C., Mexico City, Moscow and New York, providing a full spectrum of legal services. With more than 450 attorneys, Haynes and Boone is ranked among the largest law firms in the nation by National Law Journal.  The firm has been recognized by Vault.com as one of the "20 Best Law Firms to Work For," by Corporate Board Member Magazine as one of the “Best Corporate Law Firms in America,” and has received the Minority Corporate Counsel Association’s Thomas L. Sager Award for commitment to diversity.
