Haynes and Boone Honored as Corporate Ally by the North Texas GLBT Chamber of Commerce

DALLAS – Haynes and Boone, LLP will receive the Corporate Ally Award at the annual Celebration of Excellence hosted by the North Texas GLBT Chamber of Commerce.

For the last 10 years, the North Texas GLBT Chamber of Commerce annually honors individuals and businesses that exemplify the Chamber's mission of equality through business with a night of festivities including dinner, an auction, and awards.

The Corporate Ally award is given to a corporation that has a proven track record of outstanding support for its GLBT employees and the greater GLBT community through diversity policies and actions, financial contributions, professional service, and/or leadership.

“The selection process for the Corporate Ally award is not one that the Chamber takes lightly,” said Tony Vedda, president of North Texas GLBT Chamber of Commerce. “The law practice of Haynes and Boone exemplifies the merits to which we utilize in selecting this particular award.”

Haynes and Boone is fully committed to diversity and inclusion as an integral part of firm culture. The firm has long been recognized as a pioneer in the area of diversity and women initiatives, appearing on many “Top 100” rankings related to these issues. Since 2009, Haynes and Boone has consistently received high rankings on the Corporate Equality Index administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, which ranks firms for their treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) employees and consumers.

“I think this is another great example of Haynes and Boone’s culture shining through,” says Theo Foster, co-chair of the firm’s LGBT+A Committee. “Being an LGBT Ally is just a natural fit with the firm’s long history of hiring diverse attorneys and always doing the right thing.”
