Haynes and Boone Litigation Partner Yasser Madriz Selected for Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellows Program

HOUSTON – Yasser Madriz, a partner in the Business Litigation Practice Group at Haynes and Boone, LLP, has been named among those selected for the 2012-2013 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellows Program.

Madriz joins a class of 134 attorneys from around the country who have been selected as LCLD Fellows for 2012. The program is designed to connect fellows with general counsels and managing partners from preeminent organizations for a year-long professional development program that focuses on relationship-building and leadership skills. Employing a wide range of training methods, the unique value of the program is that it offers fellows an opportunity to network and learn from top leaders in the legal field.

“We are thrilled Yasser has been recognized by LCLD as a leader in our profession,” said Haynes and Boone Managing Partner Terry Conner. “Yasser has contributed tremendously to our firm and clients throughout his career, and will certainly be an important part of our future growth and success.”

Programs include in-person training on the topics of relationship building, team development and personal leadership, as well as a personal journey series, corporate visits and individual coaching.

“I am honored to be selected as one of LCLD’s fellows,” said Madriz. “I look forward to growing my leadership qualities through the unique hands-on learning environment LCLD has created with its innovative fellows program.”

LCLD Fellows are leaders that have distinguished themselves within their corporation or law firm and have a career history that reflects strong performance and leadership skills.

Madriz will be participating in the Fellows Kick-Off Conference in Philadelphia March 27-29, which will also recognize the 2011 LCLD fellows.

“Both of these classes represent some of the most outstanding talent in the legal profession,” said Rick Palmore, LCLD Chair and general counsel for General Mills. “They have been selected by the managing partners and general counsel of the law firms and corporate legal departments that they serve, so it is a particular honor.”

At Haynes and Boone, Madriz has extensive experience handling complex, high-stakes commercial litigation and has played key roles in various multi-billion dollar cases filed throughout the U.S. His cases cover a range of commercial issues, including business organization and complex transaction-based disputes, franchise-related controversies, energy litigation (oil, gas and power), contract disputes, and insurance and re-insurance coverage claims.
