Haynes and Boone, LLP Announces The Addition of Tom Hagermann as Partner In The Houston Office

HOUSTON, Texas – In conjunction with its recent and on-going expansion, Haynes and Boone announced today that Thomas Hagemann has joined the firm in Houston as Partner. Tom is joined by Marla Thompson Poirot, a senior associate. The addition of these attorneys will enhance and strengthen Haynes and Boone’s White Collar Criminal Defense and Environmental practices.

Prior to joining Haynes and Boone, Hagemann was a partner with Mayor, Day, Caldwell & Keeton, LLP in Houston. Earlier in his career, Hagemann was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Los Angeles with an impressive success record in prosecuting a wide array of major federal cases, ranging from air piracy and narcotics prosecutions to government fraud and environmental crimes. His grand jury experience was extensive; he won all twelve of his trials – eleven of which were jury trials. In 1991, Hagemann was nominated for a John Marshall award – the Attorney General’s highest award for trial lawyers – for his trial work in United States v. Amers, et al., the largest police corruption case in the history of Los Angeles. He is a 1982 graduate of Yale Law School.
Poirot has worked with Hagemann since 1997, and has developed particular expertise in situations involving alleged environmental offenses and internal investigations of every kind. She graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. from Texas A&M University and received her J.D. in 1995 from Columbia University.
