Haynes and Boone Partner Appointed Chairman of International Section of the State Bar of Texas

DALLAS – Haynes and Boone, LLP, an international corporate law firm, recently announced that effective June 13, 2003, Larry B. Pascal, a partner with the firm’s International and Corporate Practice Groups, was elected Chairman of the International Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.

Mr. Pascal’s involvement with the International Law Section spans numerous years, and includes serving as the editor of the quarterly newsletter, Texas Transnational Law Quarterly, and the book, Doing Business in Texas – A Foreign Investor’s Guide to Doing Business in the Lone Star State (Second Edition).  More recently, in prior years, Mr. Pascal served as the Secretary/Treasurer and Vice Chair of the section.

The International Law Section of the State Bar of Texas serves its 1,100 members in a variety of ways, including publishing materials on international law and hosting conferences on recent international legal developments.  The section recently completed an educational exchange trip to Havana, Cuba.

Fluent in Spanish, Mr. Pascal has extensive experience advising multinational companies with their investments throughout Latin America and the Caribbean (over 40 jurisdictions).  He also serves as adjunct professor at SMU Dedman School of Law and University of Texas at Dallas – Graduate School of Business. He earned his J.D. from University of Texas School of Law, and his B.A. from University of Kansas, where he was a Rhodes Scholar candidate.
