Haynes and Boone Partner Chuck Plenge Appointed to IRS National Advisory Committee

DALLAS – Haynes and Boone, LLP, a full-service corporate law firm, announces that Partner Chuck Plenge has been appointed to the IRS National Advisory Committee on Tax Exempt and Government Entities (ACT). The appointment was made by U.S. Secretary of the Treasury John Snow.

ACT is an organized public forum for the IRS and representatives who deal with matters such as employee plans. The committee provides the IRS with regular feedback on administrative policy and procedures of the Tax Exempt and Government Entities (TE/GE) Division.

Mr. Plenge has more than 30 years of experience advising businesses on the full range of employee benefits and executive compensation matters.  He has represented employers of all sizes in all aspects of their employee benefits needs, from health and welfare and qualified retirement plans and related ERISA fiduciary issues, to executive compensation and equity incentive programs; financial institutions in their lending activities where benefit plan issues were involved; companies involved in acquisitions and sales of businesses; as special pension counsel to parties involved in litigation relating to benefit plan matters; businesses in bankruptcy cases involving employee benefit plan issues; individuals in regard to their employment and incentive compensation agreements; and fiduciaries and investment managers for benefit plans.

Mr. Plenge is a member of the State Bar of Texas and District of Columbia Bar and a Charter Fellow in The American College of Employee Benefits Counsel. He also is a member of the American Bar Association Section of Taxation’s Employee Benefits Committee, the Employee Benefits Section of the Dallas Bar Association and the International Pension and Employee Benefits Lawyers Association.
