HOUSTON–Haynes and Boone, L.L.P., a full-service corporate law firm, in conjunction with Bancomext and Consejo Empresarial Mexicano de Houston (CEMH) will host a seminar entitiled “Doing Business in the United States,” Friday, November 8, 2002.  The event will run from 7:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Inter-Continental Hotel, 2222 West Loop South, Houston, Texas, 77027.

The Houston seminar is the second in a series addressing the concerns of companies conducting transnational business in specific markets. Haynes and Boone presented a similar “Doing Business in the United States” seminar in Dallas, and will soon address business leaders in Mexico City.

Speakers will cover topics that provide current, practical and relevant information corporate, tax, trade, mergers and acquisitions and immigration issues.  Among the issues discussed are: U.S. companies, mergers and acquisitions in the United States, the minimization of U.S. taxes, United States trade initiatives and how they affect international trade and business immigration after September 11.

Special guest speakers include, Eduardo Ibarrola Nicolin, Consulate General of Mexico in Houston and Adrian Aguayo, President of the Consejo Empresarial Mexicano de Houston.  Other speakers at the event are Harold Graham, attorney with the Law Office of Lawrence Hanson, and Luis Campos, Arthur S. Berner and Rochelle S. Seade, attorneys with Haynes and Boone.

The Keynote Speech will be given by Eduardo Ibarrola Nicolin.  The seminar was specifically designed so that both large and small companies conducting transnational business will greatly benefit from the in-depth knowledge of the speakers on their individual topics.
