Haynes and Boone Ranks No. 2 Overall in Dallas Diversity Task Force Survey


DALLAS – Haynes and Boone, LLP rose two spots to no. 2 overall in the Dallas Diversity Task Force’s 2014 Law Firm Diversity Report, "a snapshot of the diversity of lawyers practicing at the 20 largest law firms in Dallas County."

The report also ranked the firm no. 1 in the Checklist Scores for Effort category, recognizing the firm’s initiatives to "recruit, retain and promote minority attorneys."

“Diversity is an integral part of the firm’s culture and success,” said Nick Even, Dallas partner and co-chair of the Attorney Diversity Committee (ADC). “Dallas represents so many diverse cultures that it’s only natural for the firm to reflect the many backgrounds and people who make up the community we are serving.”

The Task Force determined composite scores for each firm based on the racial and ethnic diversity of the firm's attorneys and partners, as compared to the demographics of the State of Texas and the Texas Bar.

The firm was awarded the highest score of 100 and tied for no. 1 with respect to Asian-American and Native American attorneys, meaning the firm “meets or exceeds the minority resident percentage in Texas.” In the category of Hispanic/Latino attorneys, the firm ranked no. 2.

The ADC, which includes more than 60 lawyers, management and administrative team members and has seven sub-committees that regularly engage with clients, colleagues, the surrounding communities and within the firm on diversity and inclusion initiatives. The committee develops programs, with the goal of advancing the hiring, retention and promotion of diverse lawyers in the firm.

Earlier this year, a Dallas Business Journal report ranked Haynes and Boone at the top of its list for having the most women and minority lawyers in North Texas.
