Haynes and Boone Scores High In Houston Multi-Bar Law Firm Diversity Report Card Rankings

HOUSTON – Haynes and Boone, LLP was one of only seven law firms earning a B grade or higher in the Houston Multi-Bar Diversity Committee’s biennial report on minority lawyer hiring and retention in Houston’s 25 largest law firms.

Haynes and Boone, Houston’s seventh largest law firm, showed marked increases in percentages of minority partners, associates and summer associates over its 2007 results. The firm also saw significant increases in its percentage of Hispanic lawyers.

The Law Firm Diversity Report Card is a collaborative effort between the Houston Lawyers Association, Hispanic Bar Association, Mexican American Bar Association and Asian American Bar Association. The 2009 report (published Dec. 2010) evaluated and graded the hiring and retention of racial and ethnic minorities in Houston’s 25 largest law firms. Findings were compared to participating firms' 2007 scores (diversity statistics as of June 2006) and shared with the Houston Diversity Council to assess racial and ethnic progress in the Harris County legal market.

Haynes and Boone, LLP is an international corporate law firm with offices in Texas, New York, California, Washington, D.C., Mexico City and Moscow, providing a full spectrum of legal services. With 550 attorneys, Haynes and Boone is ranked among the largest law firms in the nation by The National Law Journal. The firm has been named one of the "Best Corporate Law Firms in America" (Corporate Board Member Magazine, 2001-2009) and recognized as a “Top 20 Law Firm” for culture and for diversity with respect to both women and minorities (Vault, 2011).
