Houston Bar Association Recognizes Haynes and Boone for Legal Service to the Poor

A dedicated team of attorneys in the Houston office of Haynes and Boone, LLP has been named an Equal Access Star by the Houston Bar Association for their work with the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program (HVLP).

Haynes and Boone pledged to take 25 pro bono cases annually from the HVLP program, which provides pro bono legal services to low-income Harris County men and women. With several months remaining in their current term, the firm has already handled 20 cases.

According to HVLP staff members, Haynes and Boone's volunteers demonstrate an overwhelming willingness to offer assistance when its needed, including taking cases in areas as diverse as divorce cases, veterans assistance, bankruptcy and asylum matters. The Houston office also recently hosted a CLE program to better educate its attorneys about opportunities to give back through HVLP.

Members of Haynes and Boone’s HVLP team include partners Alene Levy and Robert Levy (who serves on the Board of HVLP), of counsel Liz Klingensmith, and associates Ann Al-Bahish, Christina Crozier and Francisco Rivero.

Haynes and Boone, LLP is an international corporate law firm with offices in Texas, New York, California, Washington, D.C., Mexico City and Moscow, providing a full spectrum of legal services.
