Houston Golfer Swings for Muscular Dystrophy Association, Wins Corvette

HOUSTON – Steven Buxbaum, a partner in the Houston office of Haynes and Boone LLP, struck an 180-yard hole-in-one Monday (Nov. 15) during a golf tournament benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association to win a Corvette valued at $60,000.

Buxbaum was the first of four golfers from the tournament, sponsored by real-estate developer Land Tejas, selected to attempt the hole-in-one contest. The Houston resident sank his first-ever ace with a five iron on the ninth hole of the Houston National Golf Club at Land Tejas’ Stone Gate development.

Land Tejas sponsored the tournament to raise money for the MDA, and plans to make the fundraiser an annual event.

Buxbaum, a native Houstonian who lives in the Memorial/Galleria area, formerly served as chairman and board member for the Galleria Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Westwood Golf Club.  He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1970 with B.A. in economics and from the University Texas School of Law in 1973.
