Kenneth G. Hurwitz Elected to ABA Post

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Kenneth G. Hurwitz, Partner in the Haynes and Boone, LLP Washington, D.C. office, has been elected to the Council of the Section of Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice of the American Bar Association.

Mr. Hurwitz fills a vacancy on the Council, which helps administer the activities of the larger ABA Section charged with promoting sound development of local, state and federal administrative law, procedure and practice. The Section of Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice also seeks improvements in administrative agencies and government personnel procedures, while helping to produce and disseminate research helpful in the practice of administrative law.

The new ABA responsibilities for Mr. Hurwitz are on top of his continued role as co-chair of the section’s Energy Committee, which he has held for five years.

At Haynes and Boone, Mr. Hurwitz conducts an active energy practice and serves as a Practice Group Leader of the Energy and Power Practice Group. He represents a diverse clientele in the electricity and natural gas industries.

He is a former Executive Director of the Maryland Public Service Commission, and has more than 25 years experience in front of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, numerous state utility commissions and federal appellate courts.
