Kit Addleman Named Board Chair of Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas


Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Kit Addleman has been appointed to serve as board chair of the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas (GSNETX), the premier organization for female leadership across the region. Girl Scouts’ mission is to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.

For a two-year term from April 2015 to April 2017, Addleman will collaborate with the board of directors and executive leadership to guide the organization’s strategy. Prior to this recent appointment, Addleman has served GSNETX as a board member, the chair of the community engagement and fund development committee, chair of the Alumnae Association, a troop leader and a “cookie mom.”

“Kit has been an active Girl Scout, troop leader and volunteer over the years, and a key influencer in our organization,” said Jennifer Bartkowski, CEO of the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas. “We are thrilled she will be donating her time and expertise to lead our organization through the opportunities ahead.”

At the firm, Addleman is the section chair for the Government Investigations and Litigation section and a member of the Investment Funds Practice Group, focusing her practice on defending clients against allegations of securities law violations including accounting and financial fraud, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations, hedge fund and advisor fraud, and insider trading. She also utilizes her extensive experience with the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) to counsel public companies, investment advisors, hedge funds and broker-dealers concerning compliance with the securities laws and SEC rules.  Addleman also co-chairs the Haynes and Boone’s women’s initiatives including the Women’s Leadership Academy.
