Liza Mark Named to George H. W. Bush Foundation for U.S.-China Relations Board of Advisors

Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Liza Mark will join the Board of Advisors for the George H. W. Bush Foundation for U.S.-China Relations, effective Jan. 1, 2021.

Ms. Mark, the administrative partner of Haynes and Boone’s Shanghai office, has been working at U.S. firms in the U.S., Hong Kong, and Shanghai for more than 20 years and set up the Shanghai office for Haynes and Boone in 2013. She was invited to present at a Hong Kong National Security Law webinar hosted by the foundation and the Hong Kong Association of New York and regularly presents on the geo-political considerations in cross-border investments between the U.S. and China.

The foundation is the only presidential named organization focused on U.S.-China relations. It brings together policymakers, business and community leaders, academics and others for action-oriented discussions on a range of topics related to U.S.-China relations.

Ms. Mark is familiar with the legal environments of both the U.S. and China, having practiced for over 10 years in each, and is able to help her clients fulcrum between the different business environments. She has concentrated her practice in private equity investments, securities and cross-border M&A. She represents investors, issuers, and investment banks/financial intermediaries in financing transactions, including equity and debt public offerings and cross-border private placements in Hong Kong, India and the U.S. Mark is experienced in private placements of debt and equity securities, Asian in-bound equity offerings, Rule 144A offerings, medium term note programs, SPAC acquisitions, PIPEs, and Hong Kong IPOs. She also regularly advises clients regarding private equity investments, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and U.S. public company securities law reporting and compliance.
