RICHARDSON – Matthew Schindel, a specialist in complex private equity transactions who played a role in development of the American Airlines Center and the surrounding Victory project, has moved to the Haynes and Boone, LLP Richardson office as a partner.

Mr. Schindel has substantial experience in negotiating complex, non-public transactions involving multiple parties with adverse interests. He regularly advises clients on transactions, including drafting and negotiation of partnership and limited liability company agreements, asset and stock acquisitions, mergers, financing arrangements, employment matters, executive compensation matters, and other general business and contractual matters.

Mr. Schindel previously represented clients in the sale of a controlling interest in Dallas Mavericks basketball team, the development and financing of American Airlines Center in Dallas, and the acquisition and development of the Victory project, a multi-purpose project being constructed around the center just north of downtown.

He has also counseled clients developing a Frisco, Texas medical center complex, Frisco’s Stonebriar Park, and the Black Sands Beach development in Mauna Lani, Hawaii.

Mr. Schindel has been honored as a Texas Rising Star by Law & Politics Magazine and Texas Monthly the last three years, and as one of the Best Lawyers in Dallas Under 40 by D Magazine in 2004 and 2006.

He was graduated summa cum laude in 1997 with his J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee, where he was Research Editor of the University of Tennessee Law Review, Order of the Coif, and the Harold C. Warner Centurion Scholar.
