Haynes and Boone, LLP Co-Founder Mike Boone and his wife, Marla, received the Spirit of Generations Award from the Senior Source at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas on November 30. The Spirit of Generations Award is presented annually to an individual or group of individuals who have contributed significantly in “thoughts, words and deeds” to all generations of the Dallas community - past, present, and future.
Since 1961, the Senior Source has served greater Dallas as the go-to nonprofit for aging services that assist and connect older adults to resources, opportunities, and independence.
“We are so pleased to be honoring Marla and Mike Boone with this year’s Spirit of Generations Award,” said Caren Kline, chair of the Spirit of Generations Awards Luncheon. “In addition to Mike’s achievements at Haynes and Boone, the law firm he co-founded, Marla and Mike have positively impacted the Dallas community through their dedication to numerous causes —most notable in the fields of public education, human services and historical preservation. The Boones are most deserving.”
Maryjane Bonfield and Michael Boone, Mike and Marla’s children, spoke at the event about their parents’ commitment to serving their community.
Boone has more than 40 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, securities transactions, and board of director representations. In 2010, Texas Lawyer Magazine recognized Boone as one of the 25 greatest Texas lawyers of the past quarter-century and the “Go-To-Lawyer” in Texas in the field of corporate/business law. He also has been featured in D CEO Magazine's Dallas 500, as one of the "most influential leaders in North Texas" from 2016-2019.
The Highland Park Independent School District (HPISD) recently announced plans to name the district’s new elementary school after Mike, in recognition of his years of civic leadership.
