Mike Boone Receives 2012 Robert S. Folsom Leadership Award

DALLAS – The Methodist Health System Foundation has awarded Mike Boone, co-founder of Haynes and Boone, LLP, the 2012 Robert S. Folsom Leadership Award.

Established in 2005, the award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated commitment and excellence in community leadership, emulating the achievements of former Dallas Mayor Robert S. Folsom.

April Box Chamberlain, Methodist Health System Foundation president and CEO, said Boone “embodies the Folsom Leadership Award, and we are honored to celebrate his achievements.”

Haynes and Boone Managing Partner Terry Conner said the foundation could not have selected a more deserving winner. “We are extremely proud that the foundation chose to single out Mike for this prestigious honor,” Conner said. “When it comes to giving back to the community and caring deeply about civic matters, Mike has few peers.”

Most recently, Boone has been named to the Junior Achievement Dallas Business Hall of Fame®, and was a Distinguished Alumni of Southern Methodist University and the Dedman School of Law.

Boone, a past Dallas Citizens Council president and a former president of the Highland Park School Board, has been awarded the Justinian Award for Community Service by the Dallas Lawyers Auxiliary, and the Dallas Bar Association honored him with the Jack Lowe Sr. Award for Community Leadership.

Past Folsom Leadership Award recipients include Robert S. Folsom (2005), Nancy Ann Hunt (2006), Troy Aikman (2007), Laura Bush (2008), the late Norman Brinker (2009), Pat and Emmitt Smith (2010), and Trevor Rees-Jones (2011).
