01/31/2019

Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Frank Ruttenberg has been named the new president of the board of the San Antonio Zoological Society.

“Frank is recognized as a well-respected, passionate leader both within the San Antonio Zoological Society and in our city,” Tim Morrow, CEO and Executive Director of San Antonio Zoo, said in a news release. “It’s an exciting time to have Frank take the helm of the society as we move into the launch of our grand master plan and expansion. His long history with our zoo will help guide our future which is very exciting for our team.”

Ruttenberg has a long history of civic engagement in San Antonio, including formerly serving as chairman of the board of the San Antonio Foundation for Cultural Arts. He also has long been deeply involved with the zoo, including serving as a board member for two decades.

“To be asked to serve as the President of the Board is a great honor for me,” he said. “Our San Antonio Zoological Society is dedicated to securing a future for wildlife. Our Board understands this is a great responsibility. With the help of our ambassadors from the animal kingdom, who we care for as though they were their own family members, it is our mission to educate people to the importance of wildlife, and to inspire people to actively engage in conservation and preservation efforts that are now critical.”

In his commercial practice, Ruttenberg assists businesses with day-to-day operating needs, negotiating and drafting business contracts and business entities documentation for limited partnerships, limited liability companies, general partnerships, and corporations. His real estate practice includes negotiating and preparing documents relating to the financing, lease, sale, purchase and operation of income producing properties; the finance, acquisition, development and day-to-day operations for apartment and commercial-use complexes; landlord/tenant relations; commercial transactions with governmental agencies; and the redevelopment and preservation of historic structures.
