Sakina Rasheed Selected as DAABA’s 2014 President


DALLAS – The Dallas Asian American Bar Association (DAABA), a professional association of about 300 lawyers and one of three minority bar associations affiliated with the Dallas Bar Association, has chosen Haynes and Boone, LLP Associate Sakina Rasheed as 2014 president.

Rasheed has been an active member of the organization since 2009 and has volunteered in numerous leadership positions including co-chair of the Program Committee and the Service Committee and director of DAABA. She has been a member of the DAABA Board of Directors since 2012 and most recently served as president-elect.

As president, Rasheed is dedicated to initiatives benefitting the greater Asian-American community in the Dallas/ Fort Worth region and expanding DAABA’s mentorship program to provide practicing attorney mentors for both law students and new attorneys.

At Haynes and Boone, Rasheed is a member of the Finance Practice Group, where her practice is focused on the representation of financial institutions and borrowers in commercial loan transactions.

Other Haynes and Boone lawyers serving in DAABA leadership roles include Dallas Associate Chris Kang, DAABA treasurer; Fort Worth Associate Punam Kaji, co-chair of the organization’s Service Committee; and Dallas Associate Monika Singh Sanford, member of the DAABA Board of Directors.
