The National Diversity Council (NDC) has named Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Michelle Scheffler among the nation’s Top 50 Women in Oil & Gas for 2020 in recognition of her extraordinary leadership, continued accomplishments and high integrity.
Scheffler will be recognized at the 16th-annual National Diversity and Leadership Conference & Career Expo April 21, 2020, in Houston.
The NDC said that the Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Oil and Gas met the following criteria:
- Top leader in her organization and profession
- Directly contributes to business growth or strategic direction of the organization
- Maintains a record of accomplishments in areas of expertise
- Effective role model who inspires other women and is active in mentoring the next generation of female professionals in the industry
- Operates with the highest integrity and ethical behavior
- Demonstrates a commitment to corporate citizenship
Established in 2008, the NDC is a non-profit organization that serves as a resource and advocate for diversity and inclusion.
About Michelle Scheffler
Scheffler is an accomplished litigator who counsels clients in complex commercial litigation matters and also serves as co-chair of the firm’s Oil and Gas Practice Group. While her practice focuses primarily on clients in the oil and gas industry, she also handles trial and appellate matters in a variety of fields involving contract disputes, property rights and business torts. She regularly represents clients in multimillion-dollar lawsuits in both state and federal courts across the country.
In her oil and gas practice, Scheffler represents major integrated oil and gas companies, privately-owned independents, and equity investors in a range of matters, including cases arising under operating agreements, lease termination disputes, royalty litigation, and complex title disputes.
