Streaming Video: Larry Pascal Chairs International Law Practice In Texas Task Force


AUSTIN -- Larry B. Pascal, head of the Haynes and Boone, LLP Americas Practice Group, chaired the April 7 meeting of the International Law Practice in Texas Task Force, which will make recommendations on the modernization of the international law practice rules in Texas.

The group heard subcommittee reports and held a discussion on the merts of Texas attracting more foreign attorneys and strengthening the international practice in Texas.

The task force consists of 14 people representing a diverse group of attorneys from throughout the state, including a former president of the State Bar of Texas, a representative of the Board of Law Examiners, a representative of the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee, a dean of a law school based in Texas and several practicing attorneys working for law firms and companies in the state.

Mr. Pascal, a former chair of the State Bar of Texas International Law Section, previously led the effort to reform the state’s rules on foreign legal consultants established in Texas, and has been active on this issue with the American Bar Association over the years.
