DALLAS, TEXAS— The World Services Group, a global non-profit membership association, named Timothy E. Powers, an attorney with Haynes and Boone, L.L.P., as it’s new Chairman at its annual meeting in Madrid, Spain on Saturday, October 18, 2003.  Mr. Powers has previously served as Chair-Elect and Treasurer within the organization.

The World Services Group is a multi-disciplinary network of professional service providers. Members benefit from immediate access to other members in order to assist their clients, and to create new business opportunities by making each of the members easily accessible to purchasers of services.  Members of The World Services Group are large local, national and international providers of professional business services.

Mr. Powers is a Partner, a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the International Practice Group at Haynes and Boone, L.L.P. His practice focuses on international business law with a primary emphasis in international banking and finance, international real estate investments, and foreign investment in the United States. He has been an attorney with the Firm since 1982.

Mr. Powers is a former President of the Japan America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth, and a former Chairman of the State Bar of Texas International Law Section.  He has served as Council of the American Bar Association Section of International Law and Practice, and Section of Real Property, Probate and Trust.  He is an active member of the International Bar Association, the Anglo-American Real Property Institute and The Council on Foreign Relations.
