UK Publications Tout Haynes and Boone Latin America Practice Group

DALLAS – Haynes and Boone’s Latin American practice has been recognized by two leading authorities in Latin American business law practices.

Latin Lawyer, a prominent London-based publication that tracks the activities of law firms engaged in legal work throughout Latin America, is the latest to recognize the growing stature of Haynes and Boone’s 50-attorney Latin American Practice Group.

In listing the firm once again in its directory of recommended firms, Latin Lawyer highlighted both its U.S.-based team in the International Section of its report, and separately its Mexico City office as a stand-alone Mexican firm. With respect to the U.S.-based international team, the report noted the firm’s extensive work in Central America, particularly Costa Rica (where it has been particularly active in the real estate sector) and El Salvador, as well as South America, citing its work on behalf of clients in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Peru.

Latin Lawyer editors, citing the presence of the highly regarded Antonio Franck, singled out the firm’s Mexico City office for its strong securities, finance, real estate and M&A practices, particularly in the financial services, transportation and energy sectors.

Earlier this year, another London-based law firm survey, Chambers USA 2007, singled out several Haynes and Boone Americas Practice Group attorneys for recognition. Larry Pascal (Latin American Investment), Kenneth Reisenfeld (Trade and Compliance), Joyce Mazero (Franchising), and Debra Coldwell (Franchising) were given rankings by that publication for their accomplishments.  In particular, Latin American practice head Larry Pascal was the only Texas-based attorney cited in the Chambers USA 2007 report and was noted for his “superb reputation and well established commitment towards Latin America.”

The recognition by both publications adds to the firm’s stature as one of the leaders in Latin America. Haynes and Boone attorneys have a wide range of experience in handling the legal aspects of international business, foreign investment, trade regulation, public bidding and finance.  Haynes and Boone also has lawyers licensed in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, and Costa Rica working in its offices.

Haynes and Boone, LLP is an international corporate law firm with offices in Texas, New York, Washington, D.C., Mexico City and Moscow, providing a full spectrum of legal services. With more than 450 attorneys, Haynes and Boone is ranked among the largest law firms in the nation by The National Law Journal.  The firm has been recognized by as one of the "20 Best Law Firms to Work For," by Corporate Board Member Magazine as one of the “Best Corporate Law Firms in America,” and has received the Minority Corporate Counsel Association’s Thomas L.
