Walt Miller Named to Big Brothers Big Sisters Board of Directors

RICHARDSON, Texas— Walt Miller, an attorney in Haynes and Boone’s newly expanded Richardson office recently was named to the board of directors of the North Texas division of Big Brothers Big Sisters. Mr. Miller began his three-year term on July 1.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is recognized as the pre-eminent mentoring service in the United States. For 90-plus years, the organization has served children from single-parent homes by matching them in one-to-one positive relationships with adult mentors. Studies show children matched through the agency's programs are 46 percent less likely to begin using illegal drugs, 27 percent less likely to begin using alcohol and 52 percent less likely to skip school.

Mr. Miller  is involved in an active practice focusing on Real Estate transactions. Mr. Miller represents a broad range of clients in the structuring, acquisition, development, leasing, financing, and disposition of commercial real estate – including office buildings, apartment developments, shopping centers, corporate campuses, and industrial properties.  Mr. Miller represents real estate companies, investors, funds, corporate users, and lenders.

Mr. Miller is a past member of the Associate Leadership Council of The Real Estate Council and the Legislative Subcommittee of the Real Estate, Probate, and Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. He earned his J.D. from University of Oklahoma College of Law where he graduated with honors and was a member of the Oklahoma Law Review. He earned his B.A. from Baylor University where he was active in B.E.S.T Honors Program and Golden Key National Honor Society.
